Slimlite Ultra Clear and Slimlite Standard Self Cleaning Units are constructed with an inner pane of low emissivity glass which reflects the long wave radiation or heat back into the room, and the outer pane in clear glass.

The warm edge spacer ensures that there is no significant differential insulation value between the edge and centre of glass.

Slimlite ultra clear and Slimlite Standard Self Cleaning Units are constructed with cavities 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm. Generally the wider cavities represent improved insulation, but have no effect on sound insulation (see sound insulation).

With a 5mm perimeter seal and very thin cavities, Slimlite looks like single glazing from any distance.

Slimlite Ultra Clear and Slimlite Standard Self Cleaning Units can be used in timber windows to obtain compliance with the new Document L England and section 6 Scotland Regulations which require a timber window to have an overall U Value of at least 1.6 by using a suitable Slimlite Ultra Clear and Slimlite Standard Self Cleaning Unit, however Building Control may allow relaxation in appropriate circumstances.

Document L England and Section 6 Scotland do not apply to reglazing of any windows with Slimlite including Conservation and Listed Buildings or new or replacement windows in Listed Buildings with Slimlite Ultra Clear and Slimlite Standard Self Cleaning are approved by Edinburgh City Council for Listed Buildings.
